Worked on driving off the tee today, with the 4 Hybrid, 3 Wood, and Driver.
I noticed that in a previous practice and while playing my last round, my tee shots tended to go quite high, instead of with a penetrating ball flight. Even a vigorous (75% effort) of the tee with the 3 Wood only [...]

Shot 41 today at the local nine-hole executive course. My game felt good, the practice sessions have been helping. Made 3 pars, 1 bogey, 4 dbls and 1 triple. Hit 2/9 greens in regulation (with one really close miss on the apron) and 5/9 fairways. 7/9 greens were 1 or 2 putts.
Hit one perfect flop [...]

Hit more tee shots today. My driver has been inconsistent and short of late, so I’ve been trying to groove a reliable swing with the 4 Hybrid, 5 Wood, and 3 Wood, and will return to the driver when I feel I have reasonable control of these clubs. Towards the end of the practice, I [...]

Today I worked on tee shots. I’ve been trying to gradually extend distance from the tee, and have noticed that my backswing coil doesn’t seem as complete as it could be. I tend to keep my hands low (below my head at their highest point), which limits how much rotation I get.
So I practiced consciously [...]

Worked on my short irons today. Sand wedge through eight iron. It’s been a few weeks since I hit these, and i felt really rusty. Distance seemed a little short, until I understood why my form was off.
I realized that I was casting the club a bit, instead of lagging the clubhead behind the hands deep [...]

Practiced putting and chipping today. I’ve been neglecting these for a few weeks, due to a hectic work schedule, and being focused on learning to hit the driver. Was rusty but got the feel back fast.
Lag putts were consistently fairly close to the hole, but none of them went in. Short putts felt really solid, [...]
