I’ve been playing for a few weeks with the new Callaway HX Hot Bite Golf Ball. You may remember that I’ve been using the HX Hot since I started playing golf. That’s a great ball at a good price. Having heard good things about the new “Bite” version, I had to give it a try.
This ball is just as long as the HX Hot, which for me is generally 10 to 20 yards more than the average range ball. Plus it feels a lot softer than a range ball. Around the greens is where the Bite version shows it edge over the standard HX Hot. Chip shots can be made to check and stop a lot quicker. This took me a couple practice sessions to get used to it, by my short game has improved a lot since starting to use this ball.
It’s also reasonably priced as far as premium balls go. You can get it at Amazon (below). If you want distance, control around the greens, and don’t want to pay $50 a dozen, I highly recommend this ball.
