Shot another nice 50 on the back nine this morning. Had no pars, just five (5) bogeys.
Did not hit any greens in regulation (GIR). Hit only 3 of 9 fairways. The driver was not doing so well; hit it 6 times and only 3 shots were accurate, high and right (in the treeline but recoverable) was common.
Medium game was OK, hitting 3 of 4 good 3 hybrid shots from the turf.
Chipping was really good, had several chips to a few feet. Putting was great, had 8 out of 9 that were 1- or 2-putts. Of course this was aided by the close chips…
Also had one spectacular bunker shot. On the unslope / almost at the base of a 3 feet high, nearly vertical lip. Got it up high and on the green. Hole was at the other side of the green; hit a long putt (20 feet?) to a few inches.
So in the summary, all the short game practice is paying off on the course. However, have been neglecting the long game somewhat, need to practice tee shots a bit more.
