Had a good practice session at the range today, was hitting my irons solid. Here is what’s working: -Was focusing on hitting down and through the ball, with the swing bottoming out in front of the ball. -For the long irons, I was rotating onto my front side and finishing with the club to the [...]

Just a quick note on my grip. I’ve not paid a lot of attention to it lately, except for keeping it light to allow my wrists to hinge. Have come to realize that keeping the grip in my fingers, as opposed to palm, makes it much easier to hinge the wrists. It’s then easier to maintain [...]

Practiced lag putts today, from 8 to 20 ft. First, warmed up by hitting several 20 footers. Then hit 20 feet, 15 feet, and 8 feet along the same putting line. Next, played “18 holes” of lag putting. Putt from different locations, giving myself par (score zero) for holing the putt in two strokes, birdie [...]

Aim and alignment felt more critical. Kept going at the drill for about an hour, starting over after 3 to5 balls, before finally completing [...]

Just a note that I made 20 putts in a row at the practice green today! These were four (4) footers, a straight line putt, slightly uphill. Focused on accelerating through the ball, and that seemed to improve the roll and line. During practice stroke, I make sure that the forward swing is at least [...]
